Stillwater Church of Christ Children’s Ministry
PURPOSE - Why do you exist?
We exist to supplement the family in their efforts to lay a spiritual foundation that, in God's timing, will lead a child into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Secondly, this ministry will seek to provide an additional setting as an extended family of Jesus where they can grow in their knowledge and love for God.
MISSION - What are you going to do?
Our mission is to equip parents and volunteers to impact the world through reaching and teaching children. Sunday morning and Wednesday classes for children and youth will be the church’s primary vehicle for biblical teaching. Other activities will be encouraged to provide positive learning and ministry experiences which will complement teaching at home and Sunday and Wednesday Bible class experiences. Through these programs we will seek to encourage fellowship among children in the ministry so they will learn they can find refuge in Jesus and His body, the church.
VISION - What will it look like when you are done?
We want an ever-growing number of children to visit our church, and find a place where they feel loved, can come to know Christ, and continue to grow through life-changing experiences. We envision God using this ministry to actively influence the hearts’ of children and aim to provide the opportunity for every child in the ministry be discipled one-on-one by a parent or loving adult before they leave. Within this mentorship, we will seek to create a foundation of knowledge in basic doctrine, the spiritual disciplines and biblical skills necessary to survive the turbulent teenage years. In the end, our vision is that we prepare the hearts of children who know God and seek to lead a life loving, obeying and serving Him.
