Children's Bible Classes

Picture

Every Sunday our goal is to connect our kids to Christ through Bible study.  We want the kids to take what they learn and use it to serve God each day.

Bible Class Schedule
Sunday 9:00-10:00 am
Wednesday 7:00-8:00 pm

Nursery (Birth through 2 years)

We believe that babies begin learning even while in their mother’s womb. Therefore, we have designed curriculum specifically for babies to begin their knowledge of God.  The Nursery class is located in our childrens' class wing at the south end of our facility.

2 Years to Pre-K

The Preschool class is a wonderful place to be for children ages 2 to Pre-kindergarten. This class is equipped with teachers who love the Lord and love our children. The desire of all teachers in our preschool classes is to express to each child God’s love for them. We accomplish this by presenting stories about many Bible characters with practical applications of those stories. Our curriculum is written by members of the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond, OK.  It incorporates many learning preferences and styles to assure a true engaged learning experience. These classes are located in our childrens' class wing.

Elementary (1st - 5th Grade)
Faith Foundations

The elemenary age groups meets downstairs.
The goal of this curriculum is two fold - to teach the Bible and to make kids want to come to Bible class. The material is presented in such a way that the students retain it. It is also fun and the kids enjoy it so much that they do not want to miss Bible class.

Chronological
The lessons are taught in chronological order. Concepts and facts build on each other. Review is built into almost every lesson. 1st & 2nd grades cover the entire Old Testament: 1st  grade covers Genesis through Judges and 2nd grade covers Joshua through Malachi, 3rd grade covers the life of Jesus, 4th grade teaches Acts, and 5th grade deals with the epistles.

Real Life Application
More than Bible stories and their facts are taught in this curriculum. Each lesson also has an application lesson or a 'Bible Truth.' These are drawn from the text. Students are encouraged to read the Bible for themselves. As they get older, they are also encouraged to interpret what they have read, to ask questions, and to apply the lessons to their lives.

No Cookie-Cutter Lesson Plans
Every lesson has something different, whether it is the way the lesson is presented, how it is reviewed, or the way the application is made. All lessons are interactive; some are very high energy and others are low key. There are role plays and skits, cooking, art work, centers, object lessons, and research using Bible dictionaries, commentaries and handbooks. Reviews are in the form of question and answer transparencies and a variety of games. Every 6 - 8 weeks an entire class period is devoted to one big review game, complete with prizes.
